United Way Of Muscatine Donates $20,000 For COVID-19 Relief

The Muscatine Community Continuity Fund has received $20,000 from the
United Way of Muscatine in support of COVID-19 needs. The fund was established by the
Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine to assist nonprofits and support the immediate
and emerging needs of residents of Muscatine County caused by COVID-19 containment
efforts. Donations to the fund will be matched up to $70,000.

Funding from federal and state sources can have barriers to receiving funding quickly, or even at all. Organizations will be impacted in many ways by the COVID-19 containment efforts, and the fund will help identify gaps quickly and help local organizations continue their work during the COVID-19 pandemic. United Way has partnered with the Community Foundation in the granting process.

“Our mission is to mobilize resources to empower the greater Muscatine community to improve
the lives of people in need. To further this mission, it was important to us to support organizations during this time of crisis over and above the investments we make in their programming throughout the year by contributing to the Community Foundation of Greater
Muscatine Community Continuity Fund” said Shane Orr, Executive Director of United Way.
