Two more Muscatine County residents die of coronavirus

Two more Muscatine County residents have died of coronavirus, bringing the total to six. On Wednesday, there were 10 additional coronavirus cases in the county, Muscatine Mayor Diana Broderson said.

In all, 240 Muscatine residents have tested positive and 88 have recovered. Broderson said 798 tests have been performed.

Statewide, there were 107 additional positive cases Wednesday for a total of 3,748. The state recorded seven additional death for a total of 90. State officials says 1,428 people have recovered and there have been 28,244 negative tests.

“Please join me in praying for the families of the … additional lives lost,” Broderson said.

Broderson also thanked the frontline health care workers in Muscatine and said she appreciates the community efforts to offer them free meals and protective equipment.

“I would argue that if you asked any of them what they want most, they would say for all of us to follow the recommendations to stay home and practice social distancing when you cannot,” she said.
