Muscatine Power and Water said it has received calls from reporting someone coming to their door stating they are from MPW, showing a generic ID, carrying a clipboard and asking to look at their utility bill.
“This is NOT an MPW employee. Do not share your billing information with them,” the company said.
The situation has been reported to police so they can be on the look out for this person.
“We place high importance on keeping our customer information safe and appreciate the customers who have called to make us aware,” MPW said.
