No refuse collection Wednesday as city pauses for Veteran’s Day

Administrative offices at Muscatine City Hall and offices at other department locations throughout Muscatine will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020, in observance of Veterans Day. All offices will reopen for regular hours on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020.

The City of Muscatine urges everyone to take the time, not only on this day but every day of the year, to thank veterans and active duty personnel for their service.

Muscatine Transit (MuscaBus) will be running normal routes and will offer free rides to veterans with a military ID or other identification that indicates veteran status.

The Muscatine Transfer Station along with the Compost Facility will be closed on Wednesday, and will resume regular hours on Thursday.

There will be no curbside refuse or yard waste collection on Wednesday, nor any bulky waste collection on Wednesday or Thursday.

Residents on the Wednesday route will have their refuse collected on Thursday along with residents on the Thursday route. There will be no change to the recycling collection schedule.

The Compost Facility at the Muscatine Transfer Station will be closed on Wednesday. Normal hours will resume on Thursday with the Compost Facility open 12-6 p.m.
