Muscatine City Council to hold three public hearings Thursday night

MUSCATINE, Iowa – The Muscatine City Council will conduct three public hearings during its Thursday (May 20, 2021) regular session.

The first public hearing concerns the vacation and deeding over of a portion of Mulberry Avenue right-of-way to an adjacent landowner. The second public hearing is on Amendment #2 for the Fiscal 2020-2021 budget while the third public hearing regards a tobacco violation.

The Muscatine City Council will meet in Council Chambers at Muscatine City Hall starting at 7 p.m. on Thursday. City staff members with agenda items will be permitted in Council Chambers but public access to the live meeting will not be permitted due to COVID protocols.

With public access to the Council Chambers not permitted, those wanting to watch or participate in the meeting can attend through the virtual GoToMeeting portal. Information on joining the session and how to make a comment during the meeting is listed below. The session will also be broadcast live on the City of Muscatine YouTube channel and on Muscatine Power & Water Cable Channel 2.

The public hearings are part of a rather short agenda for the City Council. Also on the agenda is a resolution in support of grant application to the Community Heart and Soul Seed Grant Program. The grant will help support the establishment of the program through Community Development.

Information on the presentations and other agenda items can be found by clicking AGENDA to download the May 20, 2021, City Council agenda and/or attachments.
