Last week the Muscatine Police Department had the honor of helping Jefferson students hit their goal of 6,000 boxes of cereal.

According to a post on the department’s Facebook page, a pair of fifth grade students hand wrote a letter to the Muscatine Police Department seeking a contribution.

The Muscatine Police Local Association accepted the challenge and donated 1,008 boxes of cereal pushing them over their goal.

All of the cereal will be donated to MCSA and the Salvation Army this week, and the department expressed thanks to everyone involved.
