Muscatine FFA earn awards at three state contests

A big congratulations are in order for the Muscatine FFA, who on Tuesday attended three state contests with five teams (middle school) and had all teams in the top 10 of their respective career development events.

Floriculture was named the 3rd high team with Matthew Reissen earning reserve champion individual honors. Along with him making up the team were Alyssa Hall, Anna Sharar and McKenna Kopf.

The high school horse judging team captured Reserve Champion overall. Leah Cortez was the 9th High individual. With her on the team were Becca Potter, Emily King, and Maddie Fisher.

The middle school had two teams competing in the middle school state horse judging contest. One of the teams was the reserve state champion only falling to the state champion team by one point. The other team was third overall.

Kensley Paul was the state champion individual. Those on the 2nd place team were Mallory Bruhn, Kelsey Heath, and Alex Blair. On the third place team Kensley Paul, Erin Overturff, and Kiley Whimmer.

And finally, the Muscatine FFA Nursery/Landscaping team are the new state champions! Those representing the state of Iowa at nations are: Jamie Sprague, McKenna Riess, Belinda Brain and Logan Rinnert. All four claimed a stake I.

The top 10 individually with Logan 10th, Jamie 6th, McKenna 3rd and Belinda as your state champion individual.
