The 2021 regular season comes to a close for the Muscatine High School baseball team tonight, while the top-ranked Muskies softball squad plays for a regional championship.

Baseball (21-13, 9-9 5th place MAC) looks to snap a two-game losing streak on Senior Night as they host Fort Madison in a doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m. at Tom Bruner Field.

Monday’s game against Iowa City West was canceled due to wet field conditions and will not be made up.

Then the Muskies will play host to Cedar Rapids Kennedy in the Class 4A Substate 4 First Round on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Softball (35-3) is home to take on Bettendorf in the Class 5A Region 8 Championship at 7 p.m. at Kent Stein Park field #4. As this is a IGHSAU playoff game, admission is $6 and no passes are accepted for entry.

The Muskies are coming off a 10-0 win in five innings on Saturday over Ottumwa.

The 2021 Girls State Softball Tournament will be held for the 51st year at Harlan and Hazel Rogers Sports Complex in Fort Dodge starting July 19.
