Muscatine baseball knocked out of playoffs in first round

Muscatine High School’s baseball season came to a close Friday night at the hands of Cedar Rapids Kennedy, 3-0, in the first round of the IHSAA Class 4A Substate Tournament.

After four innings of scoreless action, Kennedy put two runs on the board in the fifth and added an insurance tally in the seventh, while limiting the Muskies to just four base runners all night on a pair of hits and two walks.

Muscatine wraps up the 2021 campaign with a 22-15 record and a fifth place finish in the MAC.
