The football season is almost here, and the renovations of the Muscatine High School stadium are nearing completion just in time.
Over the last two weeks, a new artificial playing surface has been installed as part of the second phase of renovations to the Muskies’ facilities.

Also installed this summer have been new bleachers, press box, and resurfacing of the running track. The renovations have been funded in part by a $1 million grant from the Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust.

The first phase of renovations included new restrooms and concessions, with a new scoreboard with video system planned for the future.

After opening the season on August 27 at Linn-Mar, the Muskies will play host to Iowa City West on September 3 in the first varsity game on the new turf.
