Expect delays as asphalt overlay continues on Park Avenue

Traffic delays can be expected as the asphalt overlay of East 2nd Street and Park Avenue from the Mad Creek bridge to the Washington Street intersection continues with work currently ongoing in the southbound (west side) lane of the street.

Once the driving lane is completed to Washington Street, Manatts will complete the street intersections with East 2nd Street and with Park Avenue. Drivers wanting to turn onto one of the side streets affected by the work may face 15-20 minute delays before being allowed onto the new asphalt overlay. Please plan accordingly and use alternate routes if possible. Flaggers will be present as the work is accomplished to direct traffic.

Once the west side has been completed, work will begin on the north bound lane (east side) with the middle lane to be overlayed last.

The milling and asphalt overlay of Park Avenue from Washington Street to Colorado/Clay will begin on Tuesday, September 7. The Park Avenue 4-to-3 Lane Conversion Project is tentatively scheduled to be completed by September 21, weather permitting.
