New COVID cases in Muscatine County nearly double over the past week

After hitting a three-month low the week before, Muscatine County saw new cases of COVID-19 nearly double during the second week of November.

According to data published Friday morning on the State of Iowa’s COVID-19 dashboard, there were 66 positive tests in Muscatine over the previous seven days for a total of 6,958 since the pandemic began.

The positive test rate also jumped by two percent from the previous week to 8 percent. While the death toll remained at 117.

23,021 Muscatine County residents have completed the coronavirus vaccine regiment.

Across Iowa, 8,802 positive cases were reported for a total of 539,409. There were 97 additional deaths for a total of a total of 7,166.
1,738,244 Iowa residents have been fully vaccinated.
