Muscatine County passes 7,000 cases of COVID-19; death toll remains 117

Louisa and Allamakee counties have moved back into the orange on the CDC’s COVID-19 community spread map on Nov. 22, 2021.

The latest report on COVID-19 metrics shows there have been more than 7,000 cases of COVID-19 in Muscatine County, while the number of people who died held steady for the second straight week.

According to data published Friday morning on the State of Iowa’s COVID-19 dashboard, there were 62 positive tests in Muscatine over the previous seven days for a total of 7,020 since the pandemic began.

The positive test rate also jumped remained at 8 percent for a second straight week, while the death toll remained at 117.

23,088 Muscatine County residents have completed the coronavirus vaccine regiment.

Across Iowa, 9,827 positive cases were reported for a total of 549,236. The number of positive tests was at 10 percent statewide. There were 102 additional deaths for a total of 7,268.

1,744,988 Iowa residents have been fully vaccinated.
