Trinity Muscatine Public Health published an open letter on Sunday, pleading with residents to take stronger measures as COVID-19 is surging to levels not seen since November 2020.

The letter signed by 11 health leaders in the Muscatine, Scott County and Quad Cities-area warns that hospitals and intensive care units are filling up, and ventilators are running in short supply.

They also ask everyone to get vaccinated, resume wearing masks indoors regardless of vaccine status, get tested if you have symptoms, and stay home if you test positive.
