All four season in 48 hours! Record warmth, windy, severe storms, followed by snow

We are set to see a quick shot of all seasons in the next 48 hours with record high temperatures possible today, along with severe thunderstorms. Then tomorrow will be calm, but snow is forecast to move in overnight.

Snow will last through Monday, with some accumulation possible.

The National Weather Service Quad Cities says an increased threat of damaging winds is expected with thunderstorms this afternoon, especially with those that develop over east central Iowa this afternoon and this evening with a cold front.

Storms will also be capable of producing large hail and a few tornadoes.

A wind advisory is in effect for much of eastern Iowa and west central Illinois from 6 p.m. today to 6 a.m. Sunday. Southwest winds of 15-25 MPH with gusts up to 45 MPH can be expected.

Stronger winds can be seen in thunderstorms as well this evening and then slowly decrease overnight.

After Sunday’s lull, snow will develop overnight and into Monday. Exact accumulations are not yet clear, so stay tuned for updates.
