Pearl City Players’ ‘Bleacher Bums’ to open Friday, April 1

The Pearl City Players Theatrical Society is thrilled to announce the opening of its latest production, “Bleacher Bums,” opening Friday, April 1st, at 8 p.m. at the River’s Edge Event Loft in downtown Muscatine.

The baseball themed comedy was conceived by Joe Mantegna and written by The Organic Theatre Company. Set in the middle of summer in 1998, Cubs fans watch their beloved team play the Cardinals from the Wrigley field bleachers. There’s game bets (before sports betting apps), cheers, jeers, jokes, and even a little romance.

The show is sure to delight Cubs, Cardinals, and baseball fans of all sorts. If you’re searching for an event to attend with your family, especially younger children, parents should note that the play also uses adult language.

The doors will open at 6 p.m. for concessions catered by Boonies on the Avenue. Only cash will be accepted to purchase food and drinks.

The show will start promptly at 7pm Friday, April 1st and Saturday, April 2nd. A 2 p.m. matinee will also take place on Sunday, April 3rd.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased in advance or at the door.

Pre-sale tickets are available at the following local businesses:

  • Boonie’s On the Avenue
