Castle selected as new Muscatine High School principal, pending board approval

The Muscatine Community School District is pleased to announce Ryan Castle as the new principal at Muscatine High School. This appointment is pending MCSD School Board approval at the regular meeting on Monday, March 20, 2023. Mr. Castle has served MCSD in several roles and is currently the Director of Operations. He was first hired by the district in 2003.

“I am excited to return to Muscatine High School,” Castle shares. “I am looking forward to expanding on the great things that are happening within MHS and continuing to build on the opportunities that we offer to all students and working with the incredible MHS staff members.” 

Ryan Castle graduated from Muscatine High School in 1996 and then went to the University of Northern Iowa, majoring in Chemistry. He then attended the University of Iowa, obtaining his Masters in Science Education. After graduation, he began teaching science at North High School in Davenport.  Mr. Castle joined the MCSD team in 2003, teaching Physics and Chemistry at MHS. He completed his principal endorsement from St. Ambrose University in 2008. Mr. Castle then served as the principal of Colorado Elementary School from 2013 to 2017.  Recently, Mr. Castle completed his Superintendent License through Northwest Missouri St.  He has served as the Director of Operations for MCSD for the last five years.

“Ryan brings a wealth of experience and a passion for  Muscatine High School and community,” says Clint Christopher, Superintendent. “I look forward to working with him in this new role  to support the success of students and staff at Muscatine High School.”

Mr. Castle’s first day as Muscatine High School Principal will be July 1, 2023.
