Shepherd of the Cross Lutheran Church and Musserville United Methodist Church will unite this summer to hold a Christian day camp the week of June 13-17, 2023, at the Saulsbury Bridge Recreation Area in Muscatine.
Campers have the option to spend the night on Friday into Saturday morning, June 17, with pick up the following morning at 9:30 a.m. Overnight accommodations will be inside the climate-controlled lodge.
In collaboration with the Wilton and Muscatine Churches, various businesses will be presenting a program for children who attend. Presenters include the Muscatine Firefighters, the Muscatine Art Center, Kent Research, Rockn Boot Ranch, Steve Asmus Petting Zoo, and Harper’s Cycling among others.
The Muscatine County Conservation board of course is set to provide the framework of the five-day camp, offering amenities such as canoeing, fishing, water games, archery, and a scavenger hunt.
According to event organizers, eighty children have already signed up, in addition to helpers, workers, and the churches who will be providing lunches each day.
