Blue Grass Community Charitable Drop Off, a dedicated advocate for animal welfare, is thrilled to announce its upcoming fundraising sale in support of the “Stop a Litter, Fix Your Critter” campaign. This campaign aims to combat pet overpopulation by providing accessible spay and neuter services to pets in need. The event will be held on September 29-30, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot of, and inside Blessings Boutique (215 W. Mayne Street) in Blue Grass, Iowa.
The sale will feature hundreds of items, including holiday décor, collectibles, free suits, and suit coats, a $2 summer sale, $2-$5 coats, home goods, and décor, furniture, all-age clothing, bake sale, crafting supplies, puzzles and games, and more. All proceeds from the event will directly contribute to the “Stop a Litter, Fix Your Critter” campaign’s mission to reduce the number of unwanted litters in our community.
One of the campaign’s highlights is the collaboration with the It Takes A Village Spay and Neuter Clinic in Muscatine. The clinic will perform essential spay and neuter surgeries to ensure responsible pet ownership and alleviate the strain on local animal shelters.
In addition to surgical services, the campaign will offer “vaccines-only” at the Quad City Animal Welfare Clinic’s drive-through in Milan. This comprehensive approach to pet wellness addresses not only overpopulation but also ensures that pets receive vital vaccinations for a healthier and happier life.
Proceeds from this fundraising sale will be divided between both organizations. Blue Grass Community Charitable Drop Off will disperse vouchers to those who cannot afford these services until the funds are depleted. A phone interview will be conducted to screen potential voucher recipients. Transportation is the responsibility of the pet owner.
Blue Grass Community Charitable Drop Off is committed to expanding the reach of the “Stop a Litter, Fix Your Critter” campaign. If there are other veterinarians or organizations interested in providing low-cost spay/neuter services, we encourage them to contact us to join this vital initiative.
Blue Grass Community Charitable Drop-Off is going one step further by challenging other organizations and businesses to match the fundraising sale proceeds up to $10,000.00. The only way to stop overpopulation is to prevent it and this takes vital funds.
“We believe that every pet deserves a loving and responsible home,” says Tammy Stoffers, Founder and President at Blue Grass Community Charitable Drop Off.
