The Muscatine riverfront is the place to be on Friday, December 1, for some deliciously good fun with the annual Candy Cane Hunt. The City of Muscatine and the Parks and Recreation Department invites the community to come down to the riverfront and enjoy the greatest spectacle in candy cane hunting.
Hunters and spectators will gather outside of the Pearl City Station downriver of the Iowa Avenue entrance to Riverside Park. The hunt will begin at 6:00 p.m. with two hunting areas set up in the green space near the basketball courts. One area will be for pre-kindergarten through first grade boys and girls with the second area designated for second through fourth grade girls and boys.
Children will sweep through the designated areas and gather up the sweet treats that they will be able to keep. Young hunters will receive a prize for each candy cane found with “Special” candy canes sprinkled around that can be redeemed inside Pearl City Station.
The Candy Cane Hunt will be held in the dark, so please bring a flashlight. A limited supply of flashlights will be available so please bring your own.
Please contact the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department at (563) 263-0241 for more information.
