Parking on 2nd Street restricted; Candy Cane Hunt, Jingle & Mingle, Tree Lighting, Bridge Light Show Premiere are set – Voice Of Muscatine



 There will be no parking from 4-10 p.m., Friday, Dec. 1, on 2nd Street from Mulberry to Pine due to the “Jingle & Mingle” Downtown Muscatine Celebration. No vehicular traffic will be permitted on 2nd Street during that time period along with Walnut, Cedar, Sycamore, Iowa, and Chestnut from the #1 alley to 2nd Street and #2 alley to 2nd Street.

THE SEARCH FOR HIDDEN CANDY CANES ON THE RIVERFRONT

The Muscatine riverfront is the place to be Friday for some deliciously good fun with the annual Candy Cane Hunt. Hunters and spectators will gather outside of the Pearl City Station for the hunt that will begin at 6:00 p.m. with an area for pre-kindergarten through first grade boys and girls and a second area designated for second through fourth grade girls and boys. The Candy Cane Hunt will be held in the dark, so please bring a flashlight.

JINGLE AND MINGLE IN DOWNTOWN MUSCATINE

Jingle & Mingle will take place from 5:30-8 p.m. Friday as Downtown Muscatine is transformed into six blocks of holiday cheer that will include the tree lighting at 5:30 p.m., pictures with Santa, visits from famous holiday characters, free hot chocolate, live music, and much more. Over 30 businesses are participating, providing the perfect opportunity to shop downtown Muscatine’s unique shops for the perfect holiday gift.

HOLIDAY SPECTACULAR ON THE RIVERFRONT

The final touches have been made with the 2023 Beckey Bridge Holiday Spectacular premiering at 7 p.m. Friday in Muscatine’s Riverside Park. Residents can tune to 87.9 FM while parked in Riverside Park to listen to the special holiday music and watch the spectacular light show all from the warmth and convenience of their vehicles. The program will run daily from 5:00 p.m. to 12 a.m. through January 7, 2024. Musco Lighting has again partnered with Muscatine Power & Water (MPW) and the City of Muscatine to bring this musical light show to life.
