Several non-profits will take center stage during Thursday’s Muscatine City Council In-Depth session, providing history and insight into how they serve the citizens of Muscatine.
The Council meeting begins at 6 p.m. and the public is welcomed, and encouraged, to attend the session in person.
Laundry of Love is part of the ministry of Trinity Episcopal Church and part of a national initiative to help neighbors who need help cleaning bedding and clothing by providing the quarters, detergent, and fabric soften sheets to individuals and families who cannot afford the costs of doing their laundry.
The Theo Wolf Foundation – Safe Sleep, Every Sleep is a non-profit organization with a mission to promote and educate the public on infant safe sleep with the hope of keeping as many infants safe while sleeping and preventing another family from the heartbreak of losing a child.
Riding For Success is a non-profit group focused on a therapeutic riding program that hopes to improve the lives of children and adults with physical, cognitive, or emotional special needs through equine activities.
The Muscatine County Arts Council is a non-profit group dedicated to the promotion of the arts through unique entertainment and educational projects and events, and provides support for the arts as well as other cultural and entertainment opportunities for the greater Muscatine County area.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace is an organization that builds twin bed or bunk bed frames for children ages three through 17, along with providing a mattress, pillow, and complete set of bedding to ensure children have what they need for a restful night’s sleep.
Several options are available for those who cannot attend in person but would like to watch the proceedings. The City Council meeting will be broadcast live on the City of Muscatine YouTube channel and on Civic-TV (Muscatine Power & Water Cable Channel 2).
