QCBJ launches Inaugural Women of Influence Awards in the Quad Cities – Voice Of Muscatine

Bettendorf, Iowa – The Quad Cities Regional Business Journal is launching the first annual Women of Influence Awards, a prestigious local award for women who have made their mark in the Quad Cities as role models and leaders.

“Twenty years ago, we started the Women of Influence Awards in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Corridor, and we’re very excited to bring this award event to the Quad Cities to recognize the outstanding women making a difference in this area,” said John Lohman, CEO & President of Corridor Media Group, which publishes the Quad Cities Regional Business Journal (QCBJ) and the Corridor Business Journal (CBJ).

The first Women of Influence event was hosted in 2005 by the Corridor Business Journal, launching a successful events program that is still growing today. In 2024, the 22 women recognized between the Corridor and Quad Cities will join the legacy of nearly 200 women honored as Women of Influence over the past 20 years. These women have led nonprofits, held C-suite positions at Fortune 500 companies, presided over courtrooms, taught the next generation through higher education, and have contributed to the community in many other impressive ways. At the heart of these awards, however, is each woman’s support for others through mentorship and leadership.

The Women of Influence will be the third annual award event hosted by the QCBJ, joining the Forty Under 40 and Fastest Growing Companies events.

“We are proud to be entering our third year of hosting business events in the Quad Cities and we are thrilled to open nominations for this new award celebrating the outstanding women in this area,” said Beth Clark, associate publisher of the Quad Cities Regional Business Journal. “We’re hoping to see dozens of nominations come in for the Women of Influence event. It will be a hard decision to select eleven to be honored this year with so many deserving women in our community.”

The QCBJ’s Women of Influence Awards are separate from, and will take the place of, the past Quad Cities ATHENA Leadership Awards, which was acquired last year by the QCBJ from Women Lead Change. Ten women will be honored annually as QCBJ’s Women of Influence, and one Emerging Woman of Influence will be honored, age 35 and younger, who is poised to take on larger community-wide roles in the years to come. The 2024 awards will be presented at the Women of Influence awards dinner on Thursday, May 23. American Bank & Trust is the event’s Platinum Sponsor.

Nominations for QCBJ’s Women of Influence are now open to the public. The deadline to submit a nomination is Friday, February 16, 2024. For more information and to submit a nomination, please visit quadcitiesbusiness.com/women-of-influence-nomination/.
