Muscatine High School proudly announces Mike Truitt as the new head football coach, effective June 1st, 2024. Truitt, a seasoned assistant coach with an unwavering commitment to player development and team success, will lead the Muskies into the upcoming football season.
Having served as an integral part of the coaching staff for several years, Truitt brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the program’s values and traditions. His dedication to fostering athletic and personal growth among student-athletes has made him a respected figure in the Muscatine community.
Mike Henson, Activities Director at Muscatine High School, expressed his confidence in Truitt’s ability to lead the football program to continued success, saying, “Mike Truitt’s passion for the game and his proven leadership make him the ideal candidate to take on the role of head football coach. We are excited to see him build upon the strong foundation laid by Coach D.J. Hawkins.”
Truitt assumes the position following the departure of outgoing head coach D.J. Hawkins, whose contributions to the Muskies’ football program are deeply appreciated.
