The City of Muscatine will hold a public meeting for residents to be affected by Phase 6C of the West Hill Sanitary and Storm Sewer Separation Project from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, at the entrance to Iowa Field. The entrance is located in the 1100 block of Iowa Avenue.
Representatives of the City of Muscatine, the Department of Public Works, Langman Construction, and Stanley Consultants will be on hand to meet with the affected residents, and discuss the tentative schedule and accessibility to resident homes.
This meeting is primarily for residents in the Phase 6C work zones, but the public is also invited to attend and find out more about the project.
Phase 6C of the West Hill Sanitary and Storm Sewer Separation Project will include sanitary and storm sewer installation with separation of sanitary sewer from the Papoose Tunnel. Work will be constructed on Iowa Avenue from Fulliam to West 10th Street, West 10th Street from Iowa to Chestnut, 11th Street from Sycamore to Fuller Street, Iowa Field, Amy Drive, the intersection of Hagerman Street and Roscoe Avenue, Roscoe Avenue from Fulliam to Van Horne, and Fuller Street from West 11th Street to Van Horne.
In addition, new water mains will be installed with new paving for the affected street sections after the sewer work is completed.
The $6.3 million contract for Phase 6C was awarded to Langman Construction, Inc., Rock Island, Ill., during the April 18 City Council meeting. The two-year project is expected to begin in early May and be completed by December 2025.
