Taylor Park splash pad open for family fun; restrooms to open soon – Voice Of Muscatine

Splash pad at Taylor Park. [City of Muscatine]

It has been quite a long wait but the much-anticipated opening of the splash pad at Taylor Park for the 2024 season is officially here. The opening was delayed due to the construction of the restroom facility at Taylor Park. The restroom facility is tentatively scheduled to open on Friday pending completion of some interior work.

And the opening is just in time for some relief from the high temperatures forecasted for this week.

Park hours are 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. and there is no facility supervision. Parents are responsible for supervising their children.

Please contact the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department at (563) 263-0241 for more information.

The Mississippi Mist splash pad will remain closed this year pending DNR approval of and implementation of improvements to the fountain.

Don’t forget about the Aquatic Center for even more wet fun this summer. The Aquatic Center, located in Weed Park, is open 12-8 p.m. on days of operation, weather permitting. Programs and other activities will take place outside of Open Swim hours. Find information on swimming lessons, private pool parties, lap swim and more in the 2024 Activities Brochure. To schedule a party, purchase a season pass or ask questions about the Muscatine Aquatic Center, please contact the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department at (563) 263-0241.
