Three parking areas, downriver boat launch to be closed to public on Thursday – Voice Of Muscatine

Three parking areas and the downriver boat launch in Riverside Park will be closed to the public on Thursday, Sept. 12, for a private event hosted by HNI Corporation. The parking area between the Riverview Center and the Mississippi Mist fountain, the parking area downriver of the Iowa Avenue entrance, and the small parking lot downriver of Pearl City Station will be closed to the public from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday.

The downriver boat launch will also be closed from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday. The upriver boat launch will be open to the public. Both entrances to Riverside Park (Iowa Avenue and Cedar Street) will also be open for public use.

HNI Corporation will be hosting their 23rd City of Hope Fundraiser Wednesday-Thursday (Sept. 11-12). City of Hope is one of the largest and most advanced cancer research and treatment organizations in the United States, and has been recognized as having one of the nation’s Top 5 hospitals for cancer care, according to U.S. News & Report’s 2024-25 rankings.

Over the past 22 years, HNI Corporation has raised just under $9 million for the City of Hope through their suppliers and members.
