McKinley Elementary School announced Monday that they have raised over $1,000 for the Muscatine Fire Department’s Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) boot drive.

Known by students and staff as “Fill the Boot,” each McKinley Elementary classroom was designated a firefighter boot used to collect donations in the form of loose change or dollar bills. With an enthusiastic turnout, the school was able to surpass a whopping $1,000.

A check presentation to the fire department/MDA will take place on Tuesday.
