Iowa’s crop ratings slip some more, but still high

Iowa’s corn and soybean ratings slipped again this week but remain high for mid- to late-July.

Corn condition rated 80 percent good to excellent with soybeans at 79 percent. Both crops rated 83 percent last week.

Corn in the dough stage reached six percent while pod-setting in soybeans was at 29 percent.

The second cutting of alfalfa stood at 76 percent with hay condition rated 68 percent good to excellent. Pastures rated 56 percent good to excellent.
