
Muscatine High School senior midfielder Sophia Thomas announced Friday she will be heading to Iowa State next fall.
Thomas led the Muskies with 48 points, tallying 19 goals and 10 assists, as Muscatine won the 2021 regional title and advanced to the state quarterfinals.

She was one of four Muskies named to the Iowa Girls Coaches Association 3A East All-District team, and was a first team All-Mississippi Athletic Conference selection last season.
Thomas has also been handling the place kicking duties for the Muskie football team in 2021, making all six of her point after touchdown attempts and is 1 for 2 in field goals, hitting a 27 yard attempt against Pleasant Valley.
