Thursday is Veterans Day and observances honoring those that served will be taking place in-person this year.
Muscatine American Legion Post 27 at 110 South Houser Street will hold the annual Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. Command Sgt. Major Ned Fry is the featured guest speaker. All veterans and their families are invited to attend.
The Fruitland Lions Club, in coordination with Island United Methodist Church and Fruitland Baptist Church, will host their annual Veterans Day Observance at 9:30 a.m. at Island Cemetery, 2327 Fruitland Road, and will include presentations by the American Legion Color Guard and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
If there is bad weather, the ceremony will take place the Fruitland Community Center on Sand Run Road.
