Wind chill advisory issued Thursday evening through Friday morning

A wind chill advisory will be in effect for portions of northwest Illinois and east central Iowa starting at 11 p.m. this evening, February 2, through 10 a.m. Friday, February 3, according to a report from the National Weather Service (Quad Cities).

Very cold wind chills are to be expected with wind chills as low as 25 degrees below zero. The cold wind chills have the potential to cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes, so remember to wear appropriate clothing if venturing outdoors.

The coldest wind chills are expected north of Highway 30.
