School instrument returns for 5th through 8th grades set for May 18

At the end of a typical school year, the Muscatine Community School District collects all school-owned instruments children have borrowed from the school for use during the school year.

“We must do this in order to clean, repair, and prepare them for the following school year. Although the end of this school year is obviously unique, we are still going to collect all school-owned instruments,” the district said in a news release.

On Monday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. you will drop your school-owned instruments off at West Middle School. There will be signs directing you where to drive and drop them off outside of the building. There will be a staff member on-site, but we ask that you follow all social distancing guidelines.

If you do not have the ability to drop off during this time, please let your Orchestra or Band teacher know so alternate plans may be discussed.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your Orchestra or Band teacher. The email addresses are below.
